Identity thieves will use your details ruthlessly. It is important to keep a close watch on your financial information because often, that is the first place that an instance of identity theft will appear. Check you bank and credit card statements meticulously for unusual transactions.
Several clues present themselves when your identity has been stolen
- Unexplained financial transactions and bills for purchases you know you did not make.
- Goods or credit cards that you did not order or apply for being delivered.
- Calls form debt collection agencies about goods or services that you did not purchase.
- Apparent redirection of mail, iike utility bills and other iimportant correspondence.
