Uninstalling BitTorrent

Click on the "Start" button. The "Start" button is typically located at the bottom left hand side of the screen.

Select Settings. This will cause a popup menu to come out. Then select Control Panel.

When the Control Panel opens you will have an icon for "Add/Remove Programs".

Double-click that icon.

The "Add/Remove Programs Properties" windows will appear displaying a list of all the currently installed programs.

Locate BitTorrent on the list, and click on it. If you are running Windows 95 or 98, click on the button that says Add/Remove - if you are running 2000 or XP click on the button that says Change/Remove. This will begin the uninstall process.

Once you have completed the uninstall process for BitTorrent the program will still be located on your computer. Please follow the next few instructions to remove the program completely.

Double-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop. Note: If you are running Windows XP and the My Computer icon does not appear on your desktop, from the Start menu choose My Computer.

Double-click on the icon for your hard drive.

Open the Program Files folder.

Right-click on the BitTorrent folder. From the menu which appears, choose Delete.

When you are asked if you are sure you want to remove the folder, click Yes.

It is not believed that BitTorrent contains any Spyware or Adware. However to help assure the removal of any malicious components from your system several free applications are available for download.
