1970-73 University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas, Ed.D. Major: Counseling, Minor: Psychology, Dissertation Topic: Communication of Emotions Through Instrumental Music and Music Selection Preferences of Patients and Non-Patients Experiencing Various Emotional States.

1975-77 University of Arkansas. Post Doctoral Coursework relating to Clinical Psychology and Advanced Internship in a Mental Health Center, Joseph Johnson Mental Health Center, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Leading to Licensure as a Counseling Psychologist September 1976.

1967-68 Production maintenance, Billet Mill, US. Steel. Gary, Indiana, Duties: Billet shear tending and assist in roll press maintenance.

1968-69 Elementary School Music Teacher Portage School System, Portage, Indiana. Duties: Teach music to elementary students in grades one through six at two schools. Prepare school musicals and teach voice education and general music history.

1969-70 Industrial Relations Department, Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Duties: Employee screening and selection, director of EEOC pre-employment test validation project. Design of employee attitude survey, productivity assessment, use of research methods and statistics in applied settings, employee training in the areas of safety, labor relations, attitude assessment, and performance assessment.

1970-72 Assistant Pastor, First Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Youth Ministry and Coffee House Director. Duties: Youth training, spiritual guidance, counseling of students and families, assist in church activities, Bible study and leadership training classes for students, music performance and teaching ministry in the coffee house.

1972-73 Assistant Professor of Psychology, Wayland Baptist University, Plainview, Texas. Duties: Acting Head of the Psychology Department, teaching courses, curriculum development and program restructuring, counseling students, assisting with testing for the Dean of Students Office, managing psychology staff, and administering the department budget.

1973-77 Full Professor of Psychology (with tenure in 1977) Bryan College, Dayton, Tennessee. Duties: Chairman of the Psychology Department, teaching, supervising instructors and business staff, budget management, purchasing materials, developing and equipping a behavioral science laboratory.

1973-77 Assistant Pastor, First Baptist Church, Dayton, Tennessee. Duties: Counseling students and families, Bible study classes, youth leadership training, spiritual guidance, children’s sermons Sunday mornings.

1976-79 Consulting Psychologist-Director of Psychological Services, Hiwassee Mental Health Center, Cleveland, Tennessee. Duties: Direct patient care and direct supervision of psychological staff.

1976-84 Expert Witness for the Social Security Administration. Duties: Review of medical records, educational records, and vocational histories of claimants. Testimony was given in Federal Social Security Hearings. Knowledge of Social Security Rules and Regulations was necessary.

1979-Present Clinical Director of Health Management Services. Duties: Develop treatment plans, staff cases, provide direct supervision, provide psychological evaluations for children, adults and geriatrics, implementation and utilization of computer assisted testing programs, provide a full range of clinical services, biofeedback, sex therapy, individual and group therapy, forensic evaluations, geriatric services, consultation to TBI, and local police departments in capital cases, marriage and family therapy and court related activities.

1980-82 Author of Child Abuse Treatment and Neglect Demonstration Project Grant, Tennessee Department of Human Services Funded by the Department of Health Education and Welfare. Duties: Provide full range of clinical services, crisis intervention, diagnostic evaluations, court testimony, monitor budget, meet with State Representatives.

1983-Present Director of Behavioral Research Institute, Incorporated, a nonprofit agency funded by Bradley and McMinn Counties, the United Way of Bradley, McMinn, Polk and Meigs Counties with matching funds through the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. Duties: Oversee the budget, fund raising, grant proposal writing for four different grant categories, crisis intervention, abuse and neglect treatment, court work, family reunification, served on the Legislative Taskforce to rewrite the Tennessee Law on Child Sexual Abuse, (put into law 1985), Presenter at TACC Conferences on Child Welfare Topics, designed and implemented the first parenting/stress training program for East Tennessee, developed prenatal classes in conjunction with hospital birthing programs, developed anger management classes for school systems, provided intervention for victims Of crime (Victims Of Crime Assistance Program), battered women’s shelter group therapy leader, developed the CHAPS Program (Changing Home Abuse Patterns) a 45 week court ordered program for domestic violence prevention and LAMP Program (Lifetime Anger Management Plan).

1980-83 Director Cleveland Pain Clinic. Duties: Psychological testing, stress management training, biofeedback therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, supervision of other personnel, hospital visits for all services mentioned, public relations, family education dealing with managing individuals with handicaps, liaison with employers to move workers back into the job market, budget management, training of staff, and work to reduce alcohol and drug dependency problems.

1983-96 Director of Pain Management Services. Richard B. Donaldson, M.D., Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, Medical Director. Duties: Same as above.

1981-2001 Consulting Psychologist at Taft Youth Development Center. Duties: Provide psychological testing for Classification Department, Consultation with the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Rehabilitation Program, Director of the Adolescent Sex offender Program.

1981-present Consulting Psychologist for Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Cleveland, Tennessee. Duties: counseling children, staff consultation and training.

1998-present Consulting Psychologist for the Regional Head Start Program. Duties: Classroom observations, teacher consultation, parent conferences, staff training.

2000-present Adjunct Professor for Church of God School of Theology, Pastoral Counseling Department
