Child Pornography Prevention Act Struck Down!

On April 16th, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the Child Pornography Prevention Act.

The six-year old law prohibited the distribution and possession of virtual child pornography that appears to, but does not, depict real children.

Writing for the majority, Justice Anthony Kennedy said key provisions of the CPPA were "overbroad" and infringed on established protections of material with artistic value that does not violate community decency standards.

We at WiredPatrol remain confident that Congress will take the appropriate steps to address the Court's constitutional concerns, and enact new legislation ensuring child pornography remains a serious crime in the U.S.

We can still fight the good fight against child porn, even with the decision, which was not unexpected. We have a new awareness campaign on child pornography, and if anyone wants to help, reach out to me,
