Welcome to the New2Computers Classroom Access!

About The Program

The primary focus of the N2C classroom project is to provide both the training and individual guidance in the development of the skills necessary to effectively moderate a variety of chat forums. In addition to the basic technical aspects of chat room management, instruction in how to properly deal with potential harassment/cyberstalking victims, and refer them for specific assistance, are also included in the formal curriculum, which consists of the following:

Online Classes

What and Why of Chat (Theory and different types of chat)
Ergonomics
Netiquette
Computer Viruses
Firewalls
The Person on the Other Side
How to Handle a Victim
Profile of a Stalker
*Role Play 1 - Handling Trouble
*Role Play 2 - Victim Reporting
*General Chat Room Role Play

Note: Role Play classes consist of scenarios involving typical situations that may occur in a chat venue. Instruction includes both demonstrations by instructor personnel and direct participation of students in presenting the proper techniques for handling such situations.

The nature of the above classes range from highly technical to being very basic. If a student experiences difficulty in adequately comprehending a particular subject, multiple attendance of a given class is not only suggested, but also highly encouraged. Individual, one-on-one assistance will also be provided upon request.
