You are here: Home > Law > Spam > What You Can Do What You Can DoAmerica Online processes approximately 8 million e-mail messages daily. Its general counsel, George Vradenburg, has been quoted as saying that between 5 percent and 30 percent of those 8 million daily e- mails are spam. Until federal laws are adopted, or until AOL's private actions have brought the spammers to their knees, recipients of e-mail can take certain measures to limit their junk email. Certain Web sites and online service providers inform spam recipients how to block or filter e-mail. If you're an AOL member, you should forward your spam e-mails to TOSspam (type it in as you would any e-mail address on AOL). Junkbusters, the GetNetWise Spam Page and Netizens Against Gratuitous Spamming are the most popular anti-spamming sites. |
