To volunteer
Help wanted
Sometimes, we have special projects that require specific skills. When this happens, we post the information on this page to alert current and potential volunteers that we have positions we need to fill. Please read through the items below and see if there are any that suit your skills. But remember, anyone can volunteer to join WiredSafety and as long as you meet our basic criteria, we will be delighted to welcome you into our organization.
Calling all photographers (professional or amateur)
If you are a photographer and would like to contribute to our image archives, please let us know. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in photography who could help us with specific images on request. For example, we might want an image of an Esc. key - we'd rather source our own images than use images from a stock photography repository.

Note: As with all contributions of creative work to WiredSafety.org, the group retains all copyrights.
DVD Skills Required
We are looking for DVD Product Authors and DVD Producers to help develop our Interactive DVD Titles. If you have experience in DVD creation (studio production, audio/visual, recording etc.) please contact
Flash Designers/Developers
Do you have Flash design and/or development skills? We are looking for help to produce Flash games for our Web sites. An interest and/or experience in Flash Accessibility would be great. Sound like you? Please contact
Researching Internet Laws [UK and US]
We are looking for volunteers with legal experience/interest such as lawyers, solicitors, barristers, law students etc. to assist with a research project for our Law section. Can you offer some time to help us research and update our current list of Internet-related laws pertaining to the UK and the US (initially). This project will be ongoing and requires a team of dedicated volunteers who are resonably conversant with/knowledgable on UK and US Law.

Can you code? Are you conversant with FTP?
Web Team need more help, via the Web Support Team (the content editorial/management arm of Web Team). You don't need to be designers or technical gurus - just folks who understand FTP and know how to edit HTML (without being reliant on WYSIWYG software like MS FrontPage, although we do make an exception for DreamWeaver users). However, you must be competent and confident - especially when it comes to up and downloading to and from the server.
We want each Division to have a point person to keep their Division's pages updated, check that all the links are working and has the time and dedication to make sure that this is done. Volunteers who can carry out these tasks will be taken on as Web Support but as an additional Divisional affiliation, not instead of the Division[s] they already belong to.
