How can I teach my children about risks online if I have never used the Internet?

What's your favorite and most important safety tip?

Load the filter between their ears. Make sure they caring around your family's values with them and apply them online and offline. Talk to your child about what they enjoy online, and who their online friends are. Use common sense. You wouldn't let them spend time with a child you don't know, would you? You'd ask about where they live, if they are in the same class or school, about their parents and supervision at their house. Treat their offline friends the same way. This isn't snooping (if you do it right). It's called parenting!
