How can I teach my children about risks online if I have never used the Internet?

But what can I do if I don't understand computers or technology? My children know more than I do about the Internet

When your eight-year-old knows more than you do about computers, I agree that it's hard to keep an upper hand. (And don't think they don't know it!) But with some simple coaching, you can learn all you need to know to keep your kids out of trouble and make sure they get the most out of their surfing experiences. (Heck, you might actually enjoy yourself and learn to use the Internet, too.)

And, remember…they may know more about technology, but you understand life. You are still the parent! (Repeat this often until you actually believe it)
